If we are watching Naruto Shippuden and we skip The Last, we most likely do not understand very well what has happened between the characters during the last episodes.
These two are canon and, especially the first, tremendously important to see. The vast majority of them are filler, so they are not necessary to follow the story, but there are two exceptions: The Last: Naruto the Movie and Boruto: Naruto the Movie. Because Naruto has had a total of 11 movies (three from the original series, seven from Naruto Shippuden, and one from Boruto: Naruto Next Generations).
